The medical community has developed a number of beneficial uses for lasers in non-invasive cosmetic procedures. Laser skin treatments utilize light energy for gentle, yet effective, cosmetic improvements. During your initial consultation, your laser aesthetician will discuss preparations recommended prior to your treatment, what to expect during your appointment, after care and expected results.
As with all our services at The K Spa, your comfort and desired results will be our top priorities for your laser skin treatments. We will take the time to explain how the laser treatment works to accomplish your desired results, and other skin care treatments or products you may want to include in your overall treatment plan.

As laser skin technology has advanced, many new ways of using lasers for cosmetic improvements have been developed. Using lasers to develop the growth of collagen (the soft cushion under your skin) can provide you with healthier-looking skin. As your skin fills in with fresh collagen, the wrinkles and fine lines that were beginning to develop are smoothed reducing the sugns of aging.
Understanding brown spot reduction with lasers starts with understanding what causes those brown spots to begin with. A simple explanation is that your skin contains molecules and cells of pigment that attract the tanning rays of the sun. When a number of those cells or molecules collect in one area, you develop brown spots. They can be small like freckles, which usually have a genetic component. Or they can be larger, irregular patches that may result from the use of certain medications, changes in hormone levels or simply from sun exposure over the years. Regardless of their size and source, laser skin treatments can be extremely effective in lightening brown spots, as the laser energy is attracted to the darker pigmented areas of your skin.
Telangiectasia is the scientific name for what is commonly referred to as spider veins. These are very small, red blood vessels that become visible on the skin’s surface. They can appear almost anywhere on your body, but the legs and face are two of the most common areas requested for treatment. Laser telangiectasia treatment is non-invasive, yet very effective in spider vein reduction. At The K Spa, these treatments are accomplished with very little discomfort, even on sensitive areas of the face. We have established preparatory procedures to limit the stinging sensation from the laser, so that you remain as comfortable as possible during your appointment.
For permanent hair reduction in most areas of your body, laser hair removal is the answer. To put an end to stubble, and continual shaving and waxing, our specialists will generally recommend a series of laser treatments. Even though you will see results after your very first treatment, as you continue with your treatment plan, you will continue to see less hair regrowth each time.
A laser light treatment, referred to as a photofacial treatment, provides a non-invasive means of treating many skin surface conditions with little downtime, often done over a lunch hour. These treatments use Intense Pulse Light (IPL) to gently heat the surface area to remove age spots, freckles, redness or tiny spider veins on your face. You will generally begin to see improvement with the first visit, however, it is typical to perform three to five treatments to achieve the full results available through a photofacial treatment. The number of treatments recommended will be based upon your particular skin type and the skin pigmentation issues that are being treated.
