Brown Spot Reduction Treatment

There are a number of different skin treatments which can be used to reduce the brown spots or age spots on your skin. Lasers and chemical peels are two of the treatments we offer at The K Spa, but they are not always the best choice for every skin type. For patients who have a darker overall skin tone, we might recommend brown spot reduction treatment through microneedling.

Microneedling does not have the risk of leaving uneven coloration in darker skin that you may have with laser or chemical peel treatments. Microneedling works differently than these treatments, providing controlled results. At The K Spa, we understand how each skin treatment interacts with different skin types and pigmentations. Our skin specialists are highly trained in the application of each treatment allowing you to acheive optimal results. In addition to their training, experience and skills, they have the added advantage of working as a team with Dr. Stong, an elite, dual board certified plastic surgeon. You are not likely to find another team in Atlanta, Georgia with such credentials.

Microneedling for Hyperpigmentation

‘Hyper’ means overactive. Therefore, hyperpigmentation occurs when your skin pigment becomes overactive in one particular area of your skin. Sun exposure, along with aging and other physical influences, can create hyperpigmentation on areas of your skin that have received frequent exposure to the sun’s rays. The face, arms and back are typical areas where hyperpigmentation may develop. The discoloration can be brown or grayish in color and the pigmentation can continue to darken with ongoing exposure to the sun. Microneedling is one of several treatments offered at The K Spa to reduce hyperpigmentation and give you a more even skin tone.

At The K Spa, we might recommend microneedling for hyperpigmentation on patients who have a darker skin tone, rather than laser or chemical peels. We also combine the application of stem cell cytokines with our microneedling procedures for hyperpigmentation to help speed the process of skin rejuvenation.
